Funerals

As a civil funeral celebrant, I am always exploring ways to make a ceremony beautiful and personal. Something special that reflects and  celebrates the life that was lived, no matter how long or short that was.

This work means that I think about many aspects of death and how funerals and the rituals around them can be made unique to each individual.

I also work with people who are pre-planning their funeral and want their ceremony to be truly personal to them and their own choices and beliefs.

The bereaved family were unsure how best to celebrate the life of their beloved father and grandfather. Once we had engaged Lorraine, at short notice for a ceremony to take place the next day, Christmas Eve, the pieces began to fall into place. Contacting the family, Lorraine was able to reassure them that their loved one would be at the centre of the ceremony, that she would facilitate them to include the memories precious to them and that she would be available to them to advise and encourage along the way. The attendees at the ceremony remarked how personal and fitting it was and how Lorraine must have been a friend to the family in how she had spoken of him. Proof that a professional who listens can articulate what we all often find difficult to put into words. The family will be forever grateful to Lorraine for the send off she planned for them and we are proud to have engaged her. Her attention to detail and personal empathy with the family reflects how we strive to do the very best for our families. Annette and Gerard Quinn, Quinn's Funeral Homes, Dundalk.

When my father passed away close to Christmas the funeral was organised at the last minute and took place on Christmas eve. On what is usually a busy time for most people, Lorraine was kind enough to be the celebrant for us. She made the funeral into a celebration of his life, which was extremely comforting to my mother, my sisters and myself. Her way with words and the kindness, thoughtfulness and empathy she demonstrated towards our family made our loss that much easier to bear. We could not recommend Lorraine highly enough and I can only imagine how wonderful she must be when conducting other more joyful ceremonies. You will not be disappointed should you choose to avail of her services.
